WEDDING RECEPTIONS BUFFET STYLE

It’s a common misconception that buffet dinners are for the budget conscientious bride only. It’s time we unveil the truth!

Buffet reception dinners are a classy banquet style. If you’re imagining long lines of guests waiting to reach the buffet, don’t worry. An experienced catering manager will have your guests served gracefully and in a timely manner. Most often, one or two tables are called to the buffet line at a time. As the small line diminishes, two more tables are directed to the buffet. This process is repeated until all of your guests have been served.

If you have a large guest count, having two buffet areas makes the buffet move quicker. Trendy Wedding ReceptionsYour wedding planner and catering manager will be a wealth of information when creating a buffet menu. Traditionally, buffets include two entrées, one starch, one vegetable and a salad. For example, a garden salad with vinaigrette and/or ranch dressing, rice pilaf, roasted chicken, a flank steak carving station and green beans.

SET THE TABLE FOR A FORMAL CELEBRATION

Formal Wedding MenuConsidering a formal wedding reception? Make a stately impression with a plated dinner that is both classy and romantic. Seated dinners are white glove service at its’ finest, and require additional effort during the wedding planning stages. There are a few tips to consider to keep your wedding reception a smooth process for the catering staff and your guests.

Limit your menu selections to three maximum. Your caterer will be able to better manage the quality of food and service during the preparation and execution of your event. A good example is one seafood entrée, one beef or chicken dish and a vegetarian option. Chicken is a popular choice for many, while less people may prefer beef. Pork is often the least preferred of the three.

Remember that some of your guests may have dietary restrictions for religious or personal reasons. Therefore, alternatives to beef and pork will provide a great dining experience for everyone. Guests enjoy being catered to, and feeling like their needs were at the forefront of your wedding planning.

Limited entrées will also make your seating arrangements easier for you. Plated dinners Wedding Escort Cardsrequire more work on your end. Assigned seating is a must to ensure that each guest receives the entrée that they requested on their response card. A good rule of thumb is to give the catering staff a visual queue at each place setting.

Incorporate your wedding décor and colors as the helpful queues. Let’s say that your colors are silver, yellow and black. And, your entrees consist of salmon, chicken and a vegetarian dish. You can place one small, yellow rhinestone on the corner of your place cards for guests who requested salmon. Use a traditional rhinestone for the guests who  requested chicken. A black rhinestone may be used for the vegetarian course.

To keep your decor consistent, the rhinestones should be placed on the same corner for every place card. When the catering staff approaches each table, the rhinestones will visually inform them what each guest ordered.
